In November of 2012, John Schoenknecht wrote a series of articles for the WAUKESHA FREEMAN newspaper, about the history of the ‘Cardinal Attic’.

The Cardinal Attic, opened in 1943, was a place created by teens, for teens which was run by teens. Thousands of Waukesha kids spent their free time at the Attic with their friends - dancing, studying and having fun.

The series received a large amount of comment and positive responses from the readers.

The series of articles and over 50 photos (many were not printed in the original series) have now been published in a 39 page high quality book.
